BRANDING | REDESIGN
⟢
The Oregon Shakespeare Festival is a renowned theater organization, and this project reimagines its brand identity with a refined, theatrical redesign. The previous logo, while clean and modern, lacked a strong visual connection to Shakespeare and the festival’s storytelling essence. This redesign introduces a more dynamic and symbolic approach, incorporating theatrical and architectural elements that reflect both tradition and innovation.

ORIGINAL LOGO
REDESIGNED LOGO

Logo
The redesigned logo for the Oregon Shakespeare Festival combines theatrical and architectural symbolism to honor both Shakespearean tradition and the festival’s Oregon roots. The theatrical mask represents drama and storytelling, a nod to the art of theater, while the clean, structured lines draw inspiration from the architecture of Oregon’s iconic Elizabethan-style theater.
The three logo adaptations reflect the festival’s core pillars: a blue crown for Education (learning and growth), a red crown for Entertainment (passion and creativity), and a golden crown for Recreation (joy and community).

The set of icons captures the essence of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival’s core experiences with a playful Shakespearean twist.
The Bard’s Stage represents the theatre stage, drawing on iconic imagery like the skull to reflect drama and storytelling. The Monarch’s Feast symbolizes food and drink, evoking the festive spirit of banquets and celebrations seen in Shakespeare’s plays. The Maker’s Edge illustrates workshops, combining the sharp creativity of crafting with the precision of tools from Shakespeare’s world.

Poster Series

The series of posters combines a classic photographic style with modern, Shakespeare-themed quotes to create a fresh and engaging visual experience.
Each poster highlights one of the festival’s core pillars: the Main Stage, Workshops, and Food & Drink, represented through expressive imagery and playful typography. The quotes—such as “All the world’s a stage. Yours awaits.”—are inspired by Shakespeare’s works but reimagined with a modern twist, adding a quirky and relatable voice.
